Materials

Cream Base Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon beeswax pellets To thicken and protect the skin.
  • 1 tablespoon shea butter For a comforting, buttery feel.
  • 2 tablespoons sweet almond oil or jojoba oil For softness and glide.
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons strong brewed green tea, cooled Provides antioxidants and soothing properties.
  • 2 to 3 drops vitamin E For an antioxidant boost and freshness.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Brew strong green tea and let it cool completely.
  • In a heat-safe glass cup or bowl, add beeswax, shea butter, and oil. Set it over a pot of simmering water and stir until melted.
  • Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Whisk in 1 teaspoon of cooled green tea. Add more for a lighter cream, if desired.
  • Stir in vitamin E while the mixture is still liquid but not hot.
  • Pour into a clean jar and let it sit uncovered until firm before capping.

Notes

Store the eye cream in a clean jar in the fridge for a cooling effect. Use a clean finger or spatula to apply. Use about a rice grain amount per eye and tap gently with your ring finger.
