Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon
  • Measuring cup

Materials

  • 1/2 cup oatmeal (ground or quick oats) for a smoother texture
  • 2 tbsp milk add more as needed to reach a paste

Instructions

  • Start by measuring out 1/2 cup of oatmeal. Use ground oatmeal or quick oats for a smoother texture that’s easier to apply and rinse off.
  • Pour 2 tablespoons of milk into the bowl with the oatmeal and stir gently until you get a thick, spreadable paste. If the mixture feels too dry, add a tiny splash of milk at a time until the consistency feels right.
  • Let the mixture sit for about 1 minute so the oats can fully absorb the milk. Meanwhile, cleanse and dry your face so the mask can sit directly on clean skin.
  • Apply the mask in an even layer over your face (and neck if you like), avoiding the eye area. Leave it on for 15–20 minutes so your skin can soak up the soothing, hydrating benefits.
  • Rinse the mask off with lukewarm water, using gentle circular motions to get a light exfoliation from the oats. Finish with a splash of cool water and pat your skin dry with a clean towel.

Notes

If you have sensitive skin, always do a quick patch test on a small area before applying any mask to your whole face. This recipe can be customized with a drizzle of honey for extra moisture or a swap to almond milk or yogurt for a gentler feel. Use once or twice a week as part of a simple, comforting skincare ritual.
